Geomagic Qualify 10

Geomagic Qualify Computer-Aided Inspection Software

The only software that fully automates both instant, inline inspection & offline analysis

Characterization

Geomagic Qualify is the previously missing link between CAD and CAM, fulfilling the promise of a fully digital manufacturing environment. It enables fast, easy-to-understand graphical comparisons between CAD models and as-built parts for first-article inspection, inline or shop-floor inspection, trend analysis, 2D and 3D geometric dimensioning, and automated reporting.

Customers such as Schneider Electric's Square D brand report the following benefits:

Significant time and money savings- Inspection and approval can be completed in hours instead of weeks, enabling a much faster product development cycle.

Better process control - Quality Control can be performed in-house without depending on third-party schedules and expenses.

Improved efficiency - Geomagic Qualify is easy to use and an intuitive tool for designers, who no longer have to decipher tabular reports and convert 2D data to a 3D CAD model.

Better communication - Automatically generated, web-ready reports improve communication across manufacturing functions and physical locations.

Greater accuracy - Geomagic Qualify allows users to inspect quality for a surface that is defined by tens of thousands of points, compared to the five or ten points that might define a CMM surface.

Automated SPC - Automated statistical process control on multiple samples can provide insight into deviation trends in a manufacturing process or used to verify the capability of a multiple cavity mold.

Dimensioning and Analysis

  • Create 2D dimensions on user-defined cross sections of the model.
  • Create 3D dimensions of models utilizing selected regions of the model, features and datums for sheet metal and other parts that cannot be cross-sectioned.
  • Generate deviation whisker plots of cross sections of the model.
  • Compare boundary edges to determine springback and cutting error.

Feature Evaluation

  • Automatically create features on test point clouds from the entities on the reference model.
  • Compare holes, slots, rectangles, and rounded (filleted) rectangles.

GD&T

  • Evaluate flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, angularity, cylindricity, and total runout.

Report Generation

  • Create HTML reports for on-screen viewing and Internet collaboration, including a 3D VRML representation of the deviation results.

Qualify Benefits

Major money and time savings
Inspection and approvals can be done in hours instead of weeks, resulting in a much faster product development cycle

Simplicity with functionality
The software requires no special expertise, yet it provides an unprecedented level of functionality. An intuitive user interface guides you through the entire align, compare, evaluate and report workflow.

Better quality control at less cost
Quality control can be done in-house, rather than relying on a third party. This allows you to manage your own processes and save the expense of outsourcing inspection.

Improved design efficiency
Graphical comparisons of "as designed" vs. "as manufactured" information aids in the designer's understanding of problems, enabling quicker turnaround time for design changes.

Better accuracy
Geomagic Qualify bases inspection on surfaces defined by tens of thousands of points, rather than the five or 10 points that might define a CMM surface.

A clearer picture of results
Display options include deviation color maps; continuous, segmented or "go/no-go" displays; deviation and comment annotation; and specified location checking.

Automatic feature comparisons
Datum-based registration allows users to automatically align features to determine tolerance differences between the CAD model and actual part.

Collaboration with others
Dynamic 3D annotations improve communication among different users at different locations.

Automatic HTML reports
With a single click, users can generate detailed HTML reports with numeric information, multiple views, user-defined and annotated views, notes and conclusions. Automated reports can also be generated in VRML and major print formats.
