Being pushed by the availability of high speed and high precision image processing components, optical 3D scanners continue to find their places in an increasing number of demanding applications. This is where our DigiScan systems are defining new standards regarding result quality, user comfort, flexibility, versatility, and – last not least – cost-effectiveness. The measurement principle is based on a modification of the well-known structured light method (patent pending). In many application fields there is a growing need for 3D replicae of physical objects that can not be created in traditional CAD. Numerous examples can be found in product design and presentation, manufacturing automization, and quality control. New and attractive applications coming up are in medical and anthropometric measurement (scanning human body parts or the entire body), requiring non-contact and reliable surface measurement in near-realtime, and in ergonomic design. 3D scanning of small and complex objects with high accuraciesUsing standard 3D scanners from the market for digitizing small-sized or miniature objects is in general either impossible or does not produce satisfying results (due to low resolutions and/or accuracies, the inability to deal with mutiple or 360° scans, non-automatic operation, high pricing). It is especially this type of applications that DigiScan Dental Scanner and DigiScan Small Parts Scanner were developed for.
DigiScan Dental ScannerThe DigiScan Dental Scanner was exspecial developed for applictaions in a dental laboratory.
DigiScan Small Part ScannerThe DigiScan Small Part Scanner was developed for scaning of small and complex objects but offers the same advantages like the DigiScan Dental Scanner. The DigiScan Small Part Scanner enables the semi- or fully-automatic capturing of small objects with a high level of resolution and detail accuracy. Not only from surface from given perspectives but also complete objects can easily and quickliy be scanned. For further use in downstream applications such as CAD/CAM, tooling & mold making, production (e.g. using a 3D printer), presentation; analysis, etc. standard formats are supported wich allow for direct model transfer into all respective software systems. Typical objects for scanning with the DigiScan Small Part Scanner - finger rings, gemsones, coins, medals, jewelry
Summary of DigiScan Dental Scanner and DigiScan Small Part ScannerMain Features- improved phase shift techniques Technical Specifications of DigiScan Dental Scanner und DigiScan Small Part Scanner- predefined workspace 120x80x80x mm³ (DigiScan Dental) and 40x30x30 mm³ (DigiScan Small Part) Both DigiScan systems are shipped with a high resolution digital camera which connects directly to the host computer. The Systems are controleed via USB bus so DigiScan Dental and DigiScan Small Part are compatible to almost every desktop or notebook computer without the need to install a seperate interface card. |
